Cumaru Decking Supplier — Wholesale, Commercial & Retail Supply

WholesaleCommercialRetail

Rare Earth Hardwoods supplies Cumaru decking direct from our own Zero Impact Brazil sourcing operation — a Class 1 very durable, Lignum Vitae-class hardwood at roughly 3,300 lbf Janka, milled and ready for wholesale distributors, commercial builders, and retail deck projects.

Cumaru (Dipteryx odorata) is one of the densest commercial decking species available, with a distinctive vanilla-cinnamon scent when freshly milled and medium-to-dark brown heartwood, sometimes streaked with reddish or purplish tones. As a supplier, we mill it in standard decking profiles and can groove boards for hidden-fastener clip systems on request.

As your direct supplier, we're sourcing this material through our own production operation rather than buying blind through a chain of intermediaries — the same accountable sourcing behind every species we sell. That means consistent grading, dependable inventory, and a supply chain we can actually answer questions about.

Cumaru runs neck-and-neck with Ipê in hardness and durability, so the choice between the two often comes down to color, budget, and current availability rather than a real performance gap; Massaranduba is a somewhat softer, redder alternative at a lower price point. We supply all three, so ask us for a side-by-side recommendation if you're not sure which fits your project. Note that Cumaru was added to CITES Appendix II as of late 2024 — we source through channels that comply with applicable import and export requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you a direct Cumaru decking supplier, or a reseller?

We're a direct supplier — Cumaru is sourced and milled through our own Zero Impact Brazil facility, not resold from a third-party importer, so we can speak directly to grading, inventory, and lead times.

How does Cumaru decking compare to Ipê decking?

The two are close competitors in hardness and durability, with Ipê slightly ahead on some published test figures. In practice the choice usually comes down to color preference, budget, and current availability — see our Ipê decking supplier page for a direct comparison.

Is Cumaru decking subject to import restrictions?

Cumaru was added to CITES Appendix II as of late 2024, meaning international shipments require CITES export permits. We source through channels that comply with all applicable import and export requirements.

What's the expected lifespan of a Cumaru deck?

Cumaru's Class 1 durability rating supports decades of exterior service with only periodic oiling, comparable to Ipê and well beyond pressure-treated pine or composite decking.

Do you supply Cumaru decking for both large commercial jobs and single retail decks?

Yes — we supply container-load wholesale orders to distributors, job-lot volumes to commercial builders, and smaller retail quantities for individual deck projects, all from the same inventory.
